Nonprofit

Summary

Safe Place International is a nonprofit that aids doubly-marginalized communities (primarily refugees identifying as LGBTQIA+ and/or single mothers) through holistic development programming. They believe that true, systemic change demands faithful investment in the full lives of our beneficiaries. Our success is attributable to that principle, which is why we can proudly say our organization is led by our LGBTQIA+ refugee graduates. Tech Fleet has partnered with Safe Place International to design and launch the SPI Virtual Community platform for Safe Place International’s “The Dream Academy'' members. The Dream Academy is a 10-week course for LGBTQIA+ displaced persons that includes socio-emotional support, employability skills training, and leadership development, led by the LGBTQIA+ refugee community. The goal of the SPI Virtual Community is to create a safe space where TDA grads can create community and feel connected, have access to important resources, and report instances of crime or violence. Thus building on the connections they made during their TDA 10-week course. Learn more at the client's website: https://www.safeplaceinternational.org.
